How it started
It’s been a long time since Omry and I first met. Through the highs and lows of startups we’ve been a part of, we always wanted to build things our way.
We’ve been building a lot of stuff over the past few years which eventually led us through endless mazes.
We've been chasing the startup dream and focused too much on the business side of things and lost track of why we started it all – for fun!
Now we are going back to our roots and are building alongside 2 more of our friends. We intend to build our projects in a more sustainable way while enjoying the process.
Edward Teach Bot: our first experiment
Ever since we got to know Telegram, we’ve been fascinated by its capabilities.
When the latest AI tools started to appear, we thought it would be a good idea to leverage the Telegram platform and built something on top of it.
After a few sessions, we decided to hack a tutor bot that would teach people any desired topic. Inspired by the famous Blackbeard pirate, we called it Edward Teach and sent it to some friends.
To our surprise, we started to get very positive feedback, so we spent the last 2 weeks hacking it together through days and nights.
How does the captain works?
We use these 3 different AI models:
Davinci 003 by OpenAI for text completion (we created multiple different prompts to get the desired result).
Dalle for a quick fun image for each chapter
Midjourney for a high-resolution stunning image to create a beautiful personalized course.
The interaction is super easy, and we tried to make it as fun as a pirate gets:
1️⃣ Pick a topic - usually, one or a few words are enough
2️⃣ Get a mini-course divided into 5 chapters
3️⃣ Receive your content packed into a beautiful magazine-style sharable link
Working with multiple models proved to be somewhat of a challenge since each of them has varying times of response.
This is part of the reason we chose telegram as our application layer since it gave us some leeway in response times since we gained the ability to have push notifications and send images when they are done rather than wait for them.
How it goes
We’ve got many ideas for products and other experiments, and we hope to ship them soon!

Guys I'd love to take a look at this one, bls give me a beta access!
I recently had the chance to use it, and I was really impressed. It was easy to use, and it allowed me to learn about any topic I was interested in. It was really helpful for me to use this tool to supplement what I was learning in school. The Tutor Bot provided concise, helpful information and made it easy to understand. All in all, I would highly recommend this tutor bot to anyone who needs help understanding a topic!
